A company built around one idea about records.
Vatspray Corporation is the parent company behind AngelsPond. We build the software organizations use to know who their people are, what they owe, and who they work with.
Why we exist
The reconciliation problem
Reconciliation is not a feature. It is a symptom.
Ask an organization a simple question — how many people work here, what did this customer actually pay, who is allowed to approve this — and the answer usually depends on which system you ask. Each one was bought to solve a real problem, and each one kept its own copy of the people and the money involved.
The copies drift. Someone is hired in one system and never appears in another. A refund is issued in one place and the ledger elsewhere never hears about it. Organizations then hire people whose job is to reconcile the difference, and that work never finishes because the cause is structural.
We build the four systems as one so the question has one answer. That is the whole premise of the company, and everything we ship is judged against it.
How we work
Four principles
What we hold ourselves to.
We own what we ship
The team that builds a system operates it. Nobody hands a problem across a boundary and calls it finished.
We write things down plainly
Decisions get recorded in language an operator can read. If a design needs a translator, it is not finished being designed.
We are slow about the record
Interfaces can be revised quickly. The shape of the record cannot, so we take the time there and accept that it makes us look unhurried.
We keep teams small
Small teams with real ownership make better decisions than large ones with divided ones. We would rather do fewer things properly.
Structure
Parent company
How Vatspray is organized.
Vatspray Corporation is the parent company. It holds the platform business, AngelsPond, and the shared engineering, security and finance functions that serve it.
The structure exists so a product team can be accountable for its own roadmap while the obligations that cannot be delegated — security, data protection, financial control — stay in one place, held by the parent.
